History

Created in 1884, SEFAC launched its leverage activity for nearly 40 years. At any time, its employees have demonstrated inventiveness, professionalism and commitment that enabled the company to reach an unmatched status and to win credibility. The pictures below trace the history of the events by showing the main steps of SEFAC's development.

Since 1884, foundation of the company by  Emile DESPAS, SEFAC (Société d'Estampage et de Forge Ardennes Champagne) is dedicated to industry and transport. What would be Paris without the Eiffel Tower and the Eiffel Tower without SEFAC’s rivet? 1971, SEFAC starts its lifting activity and conceives its first mobile column lift. It’s the beginning of the democratisation of this technology in France and in the world.  1980, SEFAC opens its first subsidiary abroad and chooses therefore Baltimore, in the United States. 1983, SEFAC goes on growing up and opens a subsidiary in Spain. SEFAC develops in 1989 the movement control and the users’ protection against pinching, 5 years before EC regulation. Creation of SEFAC UK in 2004. 2007: new patent for SEFAC. The parachute nut enables the users to save about 4 hours on the maintenance of a set. With the creation of SEFAC Italia in 2009, the group has now 5 main sites in the world and comes always closer to its Customers.
